Day 2: Yoido FGCA

Day 2

> Yeoido FGCA

Yoido Full Gospel Church which was founded by Dr Yonggi Cho is huge with numerous services to cater for a member count which is close to 800,000 worldwide. as it was a Sunday and we were looking for a church service to attend, we decided to attend Yoido FGCA. The reason i am adding this to my travel blog entry is that:
1. the church is (awesomely) huge and
2. i realized that the directions to Yoido FGCA are pretty scarce online, so here it goes.

this is the map you will get from the official website (link here)
basically we alighted at Exit 3 of National Assembly Station and headed towards the National Assembly building which is upon taking a left turn at the station exit. walk towards the direction of the National Assembly building. however the building is opposite the street. do not cross the street. take a right turn and walk straight until you see a huge cross. Yoido FGCA is just across the street.
the purple arrows highlight the route that we took
the huge cross located in front of Yoido FGCA
a photo of the interior of Yoido FGCA and their massive choir group
the usher group is dressed pretty neat!

we had lunch at an underground eatery located behind the church.
it is located right after the building of the church bookshop.
some pictures on the interior of a typical korean eatery. they do takeouts too!
mandatory travel group selfie!
a feast we had indeed.
the jjajjangmyeon was the best ever.
dad with one of the church ushers.
they were handing out coin boxes that was shaped like a bread
- apparently the savings are to be contributed to those in need when your 'bread' is full.

Next destination?
Ewha University and Hongik University!

Thoughts:

we went back to Yeoido FGCA on Tuesday and there is a shortcut across the office buildings which open their gates on weekdays. these were apparently closed on Sunday, thus the longer route.
we took this route on Tuesday instead. the purple arrow highlights the shortcut we took. across the offices and past the back of Lexington Hotel (marked X),
cross the pedestrian walkway to Yoido Full Gospel Church.
