Day 1: Departing from Penang > Titiwangsa R&R

Travelling from:
Penang > Titiwangsa R&R > Kuala Terengganu (town)
Lang Tengah Penang

We traveled via Route 4 (85 percent of the time) and later on Route 3 nearer to Terengganu.
On Google it says about 6 hours 15 mins, but it took us nearly 8 hours from Penang Bridge to reach the town area of Kuala Terengganu. However, we did make a couple of stops (about 4 stops, 15 mins each) as well as a 30 mins stop at Titiwangsa R&R (the highlight of our stops).

The route gradually goes uphill but not too steep. With me and my dad alternating 2 to 3 hours of drive each, the drive was pretty okay and not taxing at all.

All these aside, may I just say: the route was super scenic

Along the way, somewhere after Gerik and before Belum Rainforest, and around 3 hours from Penang, I would totally suggest that you make a stop at Hentian Titiwangsa (Titiwangsa R&R).
Why, you might ask?
The view is amazing! I was literally up on cloud nine.
Plus, it was cooling, a nice getaway from the Malaysian heat.
It was like a Malaysian version of The Unkai Terrace of Tomamu, Japan (terrace above the clouds).

Anyways, something to take note of is that there is a restaurant at Hentian Titiwangsa BUT it only opens at 10 am. We arrived there at 9-ish only to find it closed. However, on the way to the toilet, they sold packets of Kelantan rice priced at RM 5 each which was pretty delicious. There's also a vending machine which sells drinks nearby.

Hence in total, it was enjoyable and definitely worth the stop.
