that was when i spotted a lone star,
bright, alone, but it filled me with hope.
it might sound silly,
but stars sort of look like they're ever ready to listen to any wish your heart makes
- no matter how small or impossible.
but staring at it for a good five minutes,
i realized that it was probably a satellite.
too bright,
too hopeful,
almost too good to be true.
just like how some people are.
good stars are hard to come by,
and you don't always see them,
but you know they'll listen when you need them to.
they don't need to be bright,
they just have to be there.
while satellites seem like they are there and everywhere you need them to be.
but like all things perfect,
they're not real.
then there are people who are still trying to digest
how on earth i can ever confuse a star for a satellite.
how on earth i can ever confuse a star for a satellite.
i know.
i hear you too.
