x

everyone is always been talking about staying strong.
doing what you want.
when you want it.
and by all means, I too want to be that someone who can be fearless.
but is it okay, even for once to say that you may be afraid?
that feeling you feel where you just want to break away.
maybe travel a little. explore a little.
finding that someone.
doing something you love.

p.s. :
recently, I stumbled upon a long list of beautiful words.
the only thing is that, they're words one use to describe a type of fear.
i mean, did you know that calignyephobia is a fear of beautiful women?
or friggatriskaidekaphobia which means the fear of Friday the 13th.

Five reasons why anyone should get a temporary job.

For some, now is basically a short holiday while waiting for examination results.
There may then be about three more months before you decide where you're heading next,
or for some, its just a short holiday you decided to bestow upon yourself.
Whatever it is, you've got a lot of free time in your hands.
x

Now if you know me, you'll know that I've recently started to work.
And here are ten reasons why I feel that you should too.

1. the money
rich or not, that's not really the question is.
everyone can use a couple of extra cash.

2. the experience
seriously, I think this is rather important.
your temp job may not be related to what you're planning to do in your future,
but TRUST ME,
you can learn loads of things no matter what job you take on.

3. you will learn to appreciate high school/college/uni life
for those who have never worked before, people may tell you :
"enjoy your studying years, they are the best."
and your (expected) response will most likely be :
"duh, you're not me, you don't know this."
and then you'll be like, I wish I can go earn some money now instead of studying.
Well, NO.
once you've got a taste of what work really is (long hours, customers, duties etc),
you'll really learn to appreciate the fact that you're not going to be in the working world, YET.

4. the people
no matter if its your boss, your co-workers or customers,
there's always something to learn when it comes to people.
ways on how to handle them,
or in some cases, ways on how to avoid them.

5. you will start appreciating the value of money
this is by far on of the greatest lessons I've learnt.
if you're a shopper as much as I am,
you may start thinking twice after you've started working.
(that lovely RM50 top may equal to you working for 10 hours or so...)

x

Anyways, no matter if its a temp job, a summer job or whatever you're doing that pays,
I shall encourage you to work it and maybe pick up one or two lessons along the way.
Viva la vie!

Life : Happiness come easy?

I was looking at two kids playing with a puddle of water the other day.
Using their little feet to draw faces on the grey pavements.
They looked - happy.
Without caring about what their parents will say about their soiled feet.
Without caring about how the passerbys may have thought about them.
And even if the silly faces they drew on the pavement will evaporate soon,
Their happiness was so simple.

So why is it, as we grow older, that our happiness gets more complicated.
I mean, let's be honest.
If it was a grown man drawing silly faces with his feet on pavements,
we might have thought he burnt a couple of brain circuits.

Since when have we limited our happiness to things that we think matters?
the cars, big houses, more shoes than your closet can fit.
now i'm not saying they are not important.
but since when have they become our limitation to happiness?

Happy-New-Years Post

It's finally 2014.
Once again, I'm ushering the new year in with mixed emotions :
curiosity, excitement, a little bit of reluctant.
x

So recently I developed this habit of counting down to things or events that are about to take place.
Somehow it gives me a sense of excitement as something is drawing near.
few days to an event, few more weeks to a celebration.
But then a pastor was making a statement last week (or shall I call it last year?)
"will 2014 be another year of waiting and hoping?"
x

Will we be waiting for something exciting to happen,
for the pages of our lives to fall into place on its own.
or are we going to start planning AND acting on it,
making sure that no matter what it takes,
we are the ones who write the stories that we call our fate?
x

somehow I feel that 2014 is a year where we live by faith.
dare to take chances, to make mistakes and learn from them,
to go down paths unknown and travel routes unused.
to truly explore what life has to offer
and to step out of the box you've been confining yourself to live in all these years.
